Getting Started

The Onboarding Wizard

A step-by-step guide to Borker's onboarding wizard: what each step does and what to enter for best results.

The onboarding wizard sets up your workspace. It's not just a form: the wizard runs an AI analysis of your brand and generates your initial configuration: brand voice, topic suggestions, and calendar slots.

The more detail you provide, the better your first content batch will be.

Plan selection

Choose the plan that fits your needs.

PlanPriceBest for
BYOK$9/moMonthly subscription, cancel anytime
Lifetime$149 onceOne-time payment, access forever

Both plans include all features and require your own Anthropic API key. See Plan Comparison for full details.

API Keys

This is where you connect the services Borker uses.

Anthropic API key (required): Borker uses Claude to generate your content. You pay Anthropic directly for token usage (~$0.01–0.05 per post). Get your key at console.anthropic.com.

Postiz API key (required): Postiz manages your connected social accounts (X, LinkedIn, Farcaster) and handles the actual scheduling queue. Get your key from app.postiz.com → Settings → API.

Paragraph API key (optional): If you want to auto-publish blog posts to Paragraph. Get your key at paragraph.com → Settings → API.

You must also connect your social accounts inside Postiz before your first workflow run. Borker schedules through Postiz: if no accounts are connected there, posts can't be published. See Connecting Social Accounts.

Brand analysis

This is the most important step. Borker's AI reads what you enter here and generates your entire brand voice configuration.

What to enter:

  • Website URL: Borker fetches your site and reads your positioning
  • Company description: 2–3 sentences: what you do, who you serve, your main differentiator
  • Brand personality: How would you describe your writing style? (e.g., "direct and technical, occasionally sarcastic, never corporate")
  • Topics you cover: List 5–10 subjects you want to write about

Tip: Be specific. "We're a B2B SaaS company" gives the AI very little to work with. "We build developer-first monitoring tools for teams that hate alert fatigue" gives it a lot.

Brand review

After the AI analyzes your input, it generates a full brand voice profile. Review it before continuing.

What to check:

  • Does the personality description sound like you?
  • Are the writing principles accurate? (e.g., "Never use jargon without defining it")
  • Are the terminology notes correct? (what words you use vs avoid)

You can edit any field inline. Don't spend too long here. You can refine your brand voice anytime from Settings → Brand.

Scheduling preferences

How many times per week do you want to post?

SelectionGenerates calendar slots on
3x/weekMonday, Wednesday, Friday
5x/weekMonday through Friday
7x/weekEvery day
14x/weekEvery day, twice daily

You also set your timezone here. This affects when "today's" slots are processed.

Topics

The wizard suggests topic areas based on your brand analysis. These become your initial topic pools (the subjects Borker will write about).

  • Check the topics that are relevant
  • Add any the AI missed
  • Don't worry about being exhaustive; you can add more from Settings → Topics later

Voice attributes

Fine-tune how your content sounds with five sliders:

  • Formality: How formal vs casual (LinkedIn trends higher; X trends lower)
  • Friendliness: Warm and approachable vs professional and neutral
  • Clarity: Plain language vs nuanced/complex
  • Brevity: Concise vs detailed
  • Technical depth: Surface-level vs technical detail

Borker automatically adjusts these per platform. Your settings are the baseline.

News feeds (optional)

Add RSS feed URLs from publications relevant to your industry. Borker will monitor these for relevant stories and can generate reactive content in response.

Good sources: industry newsletters, tech blogs, competitor press pages, major publications in your space.

You can skip this step and add feeds later from Settings → News Feeds.

Complete

The wizard finishes by:

  1. Saving your brand voice configuration
  2. Generating your initial calendar slots for the current week
  3. Seeding your topic pools

You're taken to your dashboard. Your workspace is ready.

What gets created

After the wizard completes, your workspace has:

  • Brand voice config: stored in your workspace settings
  • Calendar slots: one per scheduled day for the current week
  • Topic pools: based on your selections in step 7
  • Voice attributes: your baseline tone settings

Run the Daily Workflow to generate your first batch of content.
