News Monitoring

Monitor RSS feeds and generate reactive content when relevant news hits your topics.

News monitoring is available on all Borker plans.

Borker can monitor RSS feeds for news relevant to your brand's topics. When a relevant article scores above your threshold, it can trigger reactive content generation: a post that responds to or comments on the news item.

This gives your content a timely, real-world anchor rather than only drawing from your static topic pool.

How it works

  1. During each daily workflow run, NewsService fetches your configured RSS feeds
  2. Each news item is scored for relevance to your brand topics and keywords
  3. Items above your relevance threshold become candidates for reactive content
  4. For each candidate, the news item provides a suggestedAngle, a framing derived from the article
  5. The Decision Engine decides whether to generate reactive content based on your max reactive posts setting
  6. Reactive posts enter the approval queue labeled "Reactive" so you can distinguish them from regular content

Relevance scoring

Borker scores news items by comparing article text to your topic keywords and focus areas. Higher score = more relevant. The threshold is configurable per feed.

You don't control the exact scoring algorithm, but you control:

  • Which feeds to monitor (topic-focused feeds score better)
  • The relevance threshold (higher = fewer but more relevant items)
  • Max reactive posts per workflow run (caps how many get generated)
