Scheduling

Configure how many posts per week, which days, what times, and your timezone.

Scheduling settings live in Settings → Scheduling. These settings define your content calendar: how many slots exist, when they are, and what platform they're for.

How scheduling works

Scheduling settings generate calendar slots: recurring schedule entries that tell the daily workflow when and what to post.

Example: Set 5 posts/week, Monday through Friday, with LinkedIn on Monday/Wednesday and X threads on Tuesday/Thursday/Friday. Borker creates 5 calendar slot entries with those specifications. The daily workflow reads today's slots and generates content for each one.

Posts per week

The total number of posts to generate per week. This drives how many calendar slots are created. Borker distributes these across your selected days.

Practical ranges:

  • 3–5/week: Sustainable for most small brands. Consistent presence without overwhelming your audience.
  • 7–10/week: Aggressive but achievable. Typically requires multiple platforms.
  • 14+/week: High-volume. Usually multi-platform with multiple daily posts.

BYOK and Lifetime plans both have unlimited AI generations — no monthly cap.

Timezone

Set your timezone so that "today's slots" are calculated correctly relative to when you're working.

This affects:

  • Which slots the daily workflow considers "today"
  • The time window for optimal posting time calculation
  • Calendar display times in the UI

Set it once and forget it. If you're in a different timezone than your audience, configure optimal posting times to match your audience's timezone instead.

Day preferences

Select which days of the week you want content generated. You can assign different platforms to different days.

Common patterns:

  • 5 days (Mon–Fri): Maximum consistency, professional feel
  • 3 days (Mon/Wed/Fri): Every-other-day rhythm, manageable volume
  • 7 days: If you want weekend coverage (higher on X/Farcaster, lower on LinkedIn)

Time preferences

Your preferred posting time windows per platform. The SchedulerService uses these as the target window when Process Approved assigns posting times.

Platform-specific recommendations:

  • X: 8–10 AM and 6–8 PM local time perform well for most audiences
  • LinkedIn: 7–9 AM weekdays. Avoid evenings and weekends.
  • Farcaster: Follows a global crypto audience; peak times vary

Set windows, not exact times. The scheduler picks the optimal time within your window based on spacing rules.

Minimum gap between posts

Prevents posting too frequently. If you have two X posts scheduled for the same day, this setting ensures they're at least N hours apart.

Recommended minimum: 2–3 hours for X, 4–6 hours for LinkedIn.

The scheduling → calendar slots relationship

Settings → Scheduling drives calendar slot creation. When you change your scheduling settings, Borker updates the calendar slots to match.

If you add a new platform to your schedule mid-week, run the weekly workflow to update the context. Existing generated content is unaffected: only future daily workflow runs will pick up the new slots.
